A number of independent local groups of people are meeting in the Harrow area to encourage those for whom English is not their first language. Learners may be new to English or already fluentLeaders may be ESOL qualified and may offer teaching in written English too. Others are trained by SpEC spec-London.org.ukto facilitate Conversation Clubs, and some are 'just' volunteers, learning 'on the job'. "Talk: Harrow" is a proposed new network to enable us to support each other. It is not just to about imposing any structure or 'system', support people in setting up and running groups in the ways that suit them best. Hopefully we can share resources, useful web links, etc., and help learner to find the group, or groups they need other as appropriate. Your suggestions and feedback are very welcome but please note this is currently an entirely voluntary initiative; We will respond as soon as we can .
